White tights: A do or a don't?
Okay, we all know that tights are big this season, and are appearing in every color from basic black to eggplant to dove gray. But I must ask you all...White tights: a do, or a major don't? It was always repeatedly stressed over the years by various fashion sources that is a huge no-no if you're over the age of 10, and especially if you're considered an adult female. Suddenly, however, they seem to be okay to wear and even somewhat in vogue.
What gives? Do you agree? I hesitate to deviate from my trusty selection of black tights, or even the colorful ones I've since added to my closet. But I'm also always up for trying something new and being fashion forward (as well as open minded). I'm guess I'm just not sure what I think about this trend....
Thoughts?

an absolute faux pas in my humble opinion...
The only time a grown woman should wear white tights is if she's a nurse wearing the old fashioned "dress whites" uniform. Or as a part of a halloween costume (nurse, Alice in Wonderland, etc.).
Otherwise, white tights are definitely something that only little girls should wear.
Which reminds me, I need to stop at Macy's or somesuch and buy some more tights so I can keep wearing skirts as the weather gets cold.
ooooh, do! i love these!
ug...my mother LOVES WHITE TIGHTS!!! like to no end. They always remind me of Alice in Wonderland though ...which is kind of nice but ug...
like everything, it's how you wear it. i think the models in the second pic wear it well. the others—not so much.
i just know i would not attempt it, 'cause you have to have total bird legs to pull it off.
Yes, and that's definitely something I don't have. But I might layer them under boots and a long skirt, so only a peek of them shows. I certainly won't be wearing them with mini skirts or anything!
hmmmm...i think i'm with katie on this one - white tights are for costumes or little girls!
Very Gwen Stefani-ish. Agree with Georgia about the 'bird legs'!
