Suede "Virginia Ruffle Pumps" for a bleak Tuesday

Okay, okay, I know I keep showing you my shoes, and you're probably like, wha...? Who cares?! Well, I just get excited about shoes (can you tell?) and I like to share them with my fellow shoe lovers. Is that so wrong? These kinds of posts are eventually going to transition over to a new blog about shoes called ShoeLove, which was just created by Georgia and me and is under construction. So you won't have to endure my rambling on and on about my shoes and other people's shoes and pedicures and the latest fashions in shoes and...well, you get the point.

It turned out to be a rather bleak day at work, with eight layoffs happening before the end of the work day. Some of the people who got laid off were friends of mine, and they were understandably upset. Our once wonderful little company, which was consumed last spring by a major corporation, continues to mutate and shrink, and lost its soul long ago. So, as I've said before, dressing a little nicer and getting all happy about shoes and fashion and such helps us worker bees get our minds off what's going on around us at work. If we can forget about our surroundings for a little while and have something happy to talk about at work, then we can get through these hard times.

Of course, it was a bleak day weather wise, too. And what kind of shoes do I wear on rainy and icky days? It seems to be either satin or suede all the time. It's to the point where you can tell what kind of weather we'll have by what kind of shoes I'm wearing. The more delicate and easily stained the shoes, the worse the weather will be.

Anyhow, these are so cute and comfy to wear that I wanted to blog about them. You can find them here, or head to your local Target. I got lots of compliments on them, and funny thing is, Georgia owns the same shoes—she wore them yesterday. Too bad Target doesn't show alternate views of the shoe, so you can see what my view looked like as I gazed adoringly down at them all day today. Just kidding...not.

Just thought I'd share a little bit of happiness.

I agree. It was horrible. I knew it was coming, but didn't know when or how many people. And to think they did this when we're getting so busy! It has just become a horrible place to be at. Hence the shoe love :)

Well, we dodged that bullet, but how many more are to come?

love the shoes and i don't mind you blogging about them - who doesn't love a great pair of shoes?!! sorry to hear about the round of layoffs at work - i dealt with that last year (we had about 4 rounds total) and it was not pretty...it really sucked to see good people kicked out the door. hope tomorrow is a better day!

I totally get it. I don't find your shoe posts boring at all. On a day with 8 layoffs, you NEED fabulous shoes. I've been known to stare at my shoes all day too. Your new shoe blog sounds great!
