It was so quiet...

...that yes, you COULD hear a pin drop around here this weekend. It's funny, because I'm usually pretty busy during the week and don't have much time to blog or do other fun stuff on the computer. But when the weekend comes, I love nothing more than to catch up on what everyone else is doing. Funny thing is, no one is around on the weekends, and I always wonder why. I know some people have trips or parties planned, or just can't get to a computer (many people can only blog at work). But what about the others?

For me, it's a time to catch up, to play with my cameras, to surf the 'net and (now) update my Facebook profile. I want to get into some good discussions, find some cool new blogs, and email back and forth with my blogging buddies. But no one's home. Hey, where'd everybody go???

I think I can hear some crickets chirping too, it's so quiet...

Ah well, back to whatever I was doing. I'll see you all around on Monday!

P.S. In case you were wondering—which you probably weren't—my posts appear at 4:30 a.m. or thereabouts most days because I write and schedule them ahead of time. This way they appear first thing in the morning, and everyone can take a look throughout the day. I like being able to see what people say and get emails about comments while I'm at work or running errands (yes, I'm attached rather firmly to my iPhone, if you haven't noticed). Sometimes I add posts later in the day, as they come to me or as needed, but mainly I'm very fond of scheduling.

ahhh!! I wondered because I was around last night. I need to actually myself as "on line" huh? I find it quiet on the weekends because most of my friends are married and have their own "lives" to attend to during the weekend. It's hard being the single childless one sometimes.

Yeah I think I saw you on Facebook but it didn't say you were online. It gets so boring on the weekends.

I'm married, but apparently I don't have a "life" to attend to on the weekends like all the other married couples, lol!

I am quiet on Friday nights and on Saturdays because I observe Sabbath which starts on Friday eve at sunset and then ends on Saturday eve when the sun sets. Sabbath is a complete break away from my normal routine. I do not go shopping or watch tv or work in the house or on my business or studies. It is my favourite day of the week because it is the highlight. It is a complete day of rest and rejuvenation. It is my spiritual time with God and very close friends and family. I completely switch off from anything that stresses and distracts me. Saturday night is always an evening out with friends or having a barbeque at our place or at friends. Then on Sunday we do odd things around the house and spend time with family. I usually get back into bog land on Sunday eve.

I can understand why you are reflective and quiet on the weekends, Claire. It sounds like it's a very special time for you. I guess I'm very similar in many ways, except for catching up with blogging and that sort of thing. Although there are times I like to stay "off the grid" and not be anywhere near a computer.
