Steve Madden's "Bukled" = Ick

Let me just first say I'm a HUGE Steve Madden fan. I own tons of his shoes, including four versions of my favorite shoe, the lovely and delicate Loucee Pump. Yet I think every so often a designer stumbles, and this shoe called "Buckled" is evidence of this. I am all for pushing the envelope of fashion, but this is a clown shoe, pure and simple. Why? I must ask. Why stray from making stylish women's shoes, and create something like this? What IS this?

Am I overreacting? Thoughts?

Maybe I'm just crabby from another fruitless evening of searching for that ever-elusive black A-line skirt that haunts my very soul. I'm so tired of looking I'm about to give up. But then I get mad and keep looking even harder.

And then I see this shoe and I get really annoyed. Well, I better close the laptop for now. Nothing but bad vibes are coming from these fingers tonight!

The ever-elusive black A-line skirt

I'm on the lookout for (among other things) a black cotton (or blend) A-line skirt that hits right at the knee or just below it. I have hunted all over the damn place for just such a thing, and they're harder to find than you'd think. I don't want one with a belt, or weird embroidery, or some other sort of embellishments. I just want a nice plain skirt to wear with whatever I please, so I can mix and match outfits. The one pictured above is a wee bit short for my tastes (only because I'm not happy with how my knees look right now), but the shape is good.

I won't rest until I find one, I promise you that! (Oh, and a gray one would be nice, too.)
